Microsoft announces the retirement of Windows Server 2008 exams and certifications.
Recently Microsoft announced the retirement of the 70-643 TS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure, Configuring and 70-647 Pro: Windows Server 2008, Enterprise Administrator on January 31, 2014. These 2 exams are required if you are working towards your MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008. You must meet all of the requirements for a certification prior the certification retirement date in order to earn that certification.
Currently there are two client exams for the MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008 certification they are the 70-680: Windows 7, Configuring or 70-681: Windows 7 and Office 2010, Deploying.
Microsoft has also announced the retirement of the MCITP: Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008 certification as of July 31, 2013. This certification is being replaced with the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows Server 2008.
So if you are working towards your MCIPT: Enterprise Administrator you will need to complete the following exams before January 31, 2014:
- 70-640: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring
- 7-642: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring
- 70-643: Windows Server 2008, Enterprise Administrator
- 70-680: Windows 7, Configuring or
- 70-681: Windows 7 and Office 2010, Deploying
Note: 70-681 will retire on January 31, 2014.
