Video -PMP Project Management and Tribal Leadership
Previous versions of the Project Management Body of Knowledge® seldom mentioned leadership. At least not the term or related terminology. The PMBOK® 5th Ed. now more appropriately addresses the role of a project manager as a leader, visionary, mentor, coach, networker and manager. Tribal Leadership by Dave Logan, John King, and Halee Fischer-Wright introduces a powerful new spin on leadership environments and approaches. Although not the authors’ intent, there is a direct parallel to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and other motivation and team development theories that are essential to project management understanding. This video is a brief review that introduces a subset of the book’s concepts, tying them to the important changes occurring within project management methodology.
