To add the Dial-in properties tab, copy the following files from a Windows 2012 R2 x64 server to the Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 Desktop.

C:\Windows\System32\mprsnap.dll

C:\Windows\System32\rasuser.dll

004-Active-Directory-Users-and-Computers-ADUC

C:\Windows\System\rtrfiltr.dll

C:\Windows\System32\en-US\mprsnap.dll.mui

006-Active-Directory-Users-and-Computers-ADUC

C:\Windows\System32\en-US\rasuser.dll.mui

007-Active-Directory-Users-and-Computers-ADUC

C:\Windows\System32\en-US\rtrfiltr.dll.mui

Once you have copied the files to your desktop, then copy the files to the appropriate C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Windows\System32\en-US folder.

Open the Command Prompt with Administrative rights type the following command (See figure 3).

regsvr32.exe rasuser.dll

Ensure a dialog box opens the rasuser.dll was successfully registered (See figure 4).

If you have either ADAC or ADUC open you will need to close and reopen the tools.  The Dial in Tab is now available in the user property in both the Active Directory Administrative Center (See figure 5) and the Active Directory Users and Computers (See figure 6).

When trying to register the rauser.dll file I get an error:

The module “rasuser.dll” failed to load.

Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check
for problems with the binary or dependant .DLL files.

The specified procedure could not be found.

this pops up right after I run as listed above for this file. It lives inside of c:\windows\system32 on a windows 10 enterprise 64 bit system. I copied the file from a windows 2012 64 bit server.

Please assist in any way you can.

Thanks for your comment. We’ve fixed the post to include the correct folders.

sorry .. I forgot to mention that the previous comment works for on a 64-bit environment ..

you forgot to mention that they also need to copy the following files and transfer them to their respective folders:

    Location: C:\WIndows\System32\
    Files: mprsnap.dll, rtrfiltr.dll

    Location: C:\WIndows\System32\en-us
    Files: mprsnap.dll.mui, rtrfiltr.dll.mui

If the said files are not copied, you’d get an error message “module rasuser.dll failed to load” when registering rasuder.dll
