Prepare for the Microsoft Certified: Intelligent Applications Builder Associate (beta) Certification  

This course is designed to help students confidently prepare for the AB-410: Intelligent Applications Builder Associate (beta) exam. The study areas for the certification exam related to this course are based on the Job Task Analysis (JTA) that was conducted February 2026.

Note: To pass the certification test, studying outside the course may be required to ensure all the concepts are fully understood.

Course Outline

Learning Path: Get started with AI-first solutions in Microsoft Power Platform

Before you build, you need to think like an AI-first maker. This learning path establishes the mindset, language, and tools you need to approach Power Platform solutions intelligently. You explore AI-first design patterns and learn how Copilot capabilities shape modern solution architecture. You develop your prompt engineering skills to work effectively with generative AI tools. Then you put those skills into practice with AI-powered Plans, which help you translate a business idea directly into a structured solution blueprint — so you can move from concept to implementation with confidence.

Learning Path: Build your data model with Microsoft Dataverse 

Every intelligent app solution needs a solid data foundation. This learning path teaches you how to design and build that foundation in Microsoft Dataverse. You start by understanding how Dataverse works — its tables, columns, relationships, and built-in capabilities. You then model your business data by creating and configuring tables and columns to match your organization's needs. With your data structure in place, you apply security roles to control who can see and do what. Finally, you encode your business logic directly into the data layer using business rules — ensuring data integrity and consistency without writing code.

This learning path takes you from first canvas app to a fully configured model-driven app and a data-connected Power Pages portal — giving you the full range of Power Apps surfaces for any audience or scenario. Whether you're building an internal tool, a structured business app, or a public-facing website, every app you build here is designed to surface intelligent, Dataverse-backed data.

The best solutions do the routine work so your people don't have to. This learning path equips you to wire your Power Platform solutions with intelligent automation using Microsoft Power Automate. You create cloud flows that react to events, use Dataverse triggers and actions to connect automation directly to your data model, and build approval flows that route decisions to the right people at the right time. The learning path closes by adding a layer of generative AI — using AI Builder grounded prompts to query your own Dataverse data in natural language and surface intelligent responses inside your apps and flows.
