Video: Windows 7 – Creating WinPE images on bootable media and updating the boot.wim file
In this video, learn how to update the boot.wim file. Windows 7 Desktop and field engineers may create a customized WinPE or boot image file using the Windows Automated Installation kit. The most common boot.wim update is the insertion of Network Interface Drivers. Often overlooked, the boot.wim file actually contains two images, WinPE and the Windows 7 setup/install image. Addition of drivers should consider update of both images. A scripted approach, using a standard, pre-built image management environment is used to demonstrate the update of the boot.wim file with additional NIC drivers.
