Microsoft announces retirement of the Windows Server 2012 R2 MCSE: Desktop Infrastructure Certification.
Microsoft announced in the middle of October the retirement of the following exams that are currently required for the Windows Server 2012 R2 MCSE: Desktop Infrastructure certification on 31 January 2016.
- 70-415: Implementing a Desktop Infrastructure
- 70-416: Implementing Desktop Applications Environments
Once these exams retire candidates will no longer be able to complete the MCSE: Desktop Infrastructure certification. If you already hold the MCSE: Desktop Infrastructure certification it will remain valid. If you have not started you might consider the MCSE: Enterprise Device and App certification instead. Following exams are required:
- 70-687: Configuring Windows 8.1 *
- 70-688: Supporting Windows 8.1 *
- 70-695: Deploying Windows Desktops and Enterprise Applications
- 70-696: Administering System Center Configuration Manager and Intune
* Note: The 70-687 and 70-688 exams will be retiring 31 July 2016 and will be replaced with 70-697 Configuring Windows Devices and 70-698 Planning for and Managing Windows Devices.
